Ini adalah masalah paling umum pada kulkas 1 pintu. Bunga es yang tebal akan menyempitkan ruang dan membuat kulkas menjadi kurang dingin.
Penyebab: Pintu terlalu sering dibuka-tutup atau karet pintu sudah longgar sehingga udara luar masuk.Solusi Mandiri: Tekan tombol Defrost (pencairan otomatis) yang biasanya ada di tengah kenop pengatur suhu. Jangan pernah mencongkel es dengan pisau atau obeng. Biarkan mencair sendiri. Taruh wadah di bawah freezer untuk menampung air sisa pencairan. Masalah 2
Air Menetes di Dalam Kulkas
Banyak pengguna kulkas 1 pintu mengeluhkan air yang menetes dari bawah freezer dan membasahi makanan di rak bawahnya.
Penyebab: Saluran pembuangan air di bagian belakang/bawah freezer tersumbat oleh kotoran atau sisa makanan.Solusi Mandiri: Matikan kulkas dan cari lubang kecil pembuangan di bagian dalam kulkas (biasanya di bawah freezer atau di baki penampung). Penyebab: Bunga es sudah terlalu tebal hingga menutup jalur sirkulasi udara dingin ke bawah, atau pengaturan suhu terlalu rendah.Solusi Mandiri: Lakukan defrost total selama 24 jam dengan mencabut colokan listrik dan membuka pintu kulkas lebar-lebar.
